Traffic & Smart City:

, a traffic management platform, has raised $11 million in a Series A funding round, co-led by Zero Infinity Partners and Climactic with participation from Comcast Ventures and Robert Downey Jr.’s FootPrint Coalition Ventures. More than 100 cities around the world use the platform, which cities can use for a variety of work including transportation pricing, reducing carbon emissions and congestion and crafting transportation policies. Vehicle Production & Assembly:

, the maker of the F77 performance motorcycle, has raised a Series D financing round from Exor N.V. The company aims to use this investment towards expansion across India, ramping up sales of the F77 motorcycle, as well as expansion in international markets. (

Autonomy, Robotics & AI:

, a Chinese autonomous driving startup backed by Baidu, Inc., has raised RMB 460 million (around $67.2 million) in a Series A led by Qiming Venture Partners and joined by multiple veteran investment firms. DeepWay brands itself as China’s first electric vehicle startup that designs autonomous trucks from scratch for freight delivery. (

Electrification & Alternative Fuels:

UK-based graphene startup

closed a £4.1-million (US$4.8-million) seed round led by Elbow Beach Capital with a £1.5-million (US$1.8-million) investment and supported by Wealth Club, Blue Wire Capital, Oxford Investment Opportunity Network, Zero Carbon Capital, Silicon Roundabout Ventures and Deeptech Labs. Graphene, only discovered in 2004, is a unique material with many desirable properties such as high electrical and thermal conductivity and significant strength. (

British battery developer

secured over 200 million dollars to fund battery materials manufacturing. The company speaks of soon making “tens of thousands of metric tonnes” of its silicon-based anode materials and mentions supplying Tier 1 OEMs. Nexeon focuses on silicon anodes for Li-ion batteries. Compared to carbon anodes, Nexeon batteries claim almost ten times more gravimetric capacity per gram. (

, a U.S.-based lithium-ion battery recycling and engineered materials company, announced a strategic investment of $50 million from SK ecoplant, the environmental unit of Korean conglomerate SK. (

Vehicle Connectivity:

, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based provider of a “Vehicle Infotainment as a Service” company providing car fleet businesses full and remote control over their connected vehicle screens, raised $3.5m in funding. (

Supply Chain & Logistics:

has raised $30 million as part of an ongoing financing round. FourKites, whose customers at one time included Coca-Cola, AB InBev and Walmart, tracks and helps manage freight shipments across road, rail, ocean, air and parcel. (

)

, a new software platform from Curbside Technologies that helps trash haulers manage their routes and operations, raised $6 million to continue developing its technology and acquire new customers. B Capital Group co-led the seed round with Mucker Capital. (

)

, a Palo Alto, CA-based maritime shipping AI company, raised $7m in post-seed funding. Backers included existing investors AI Fund and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. The company, which brought total funding raised to date to $10m, intends to use the funds to accelerate ongoing R&D and go-to-market efforts for the new CII product. Bearing brings operational efficiencies to the maritime shipping industry. (
